ATP Miami Open Tennis 2024 – Day 7 Tips and Betting Preview

It is last 16 day at the ATP Miami Open on Tuesday with all eight matches being played as we finalise the men who will be competing in the quarter finals over the next couple of days in the latest Masters 1000 event of the season.

We really are seeing some brilliant tennis this week even though one or two bigger names are biting the dust. There is more than enough quality left in to suggest we should be in for quite a day of action on Tuesday.

Stadium Court

We open up the action on the Stadium with the first of three men’s matches over the course of the day and it is the defending champion Daniil Medvedev who gets the show on the road. He faces off against the unseeded Dominik Koepfer, who is actually the only unseeded player on show on this court throughout the day. A women’s quarter final follows that before Carlos Alcaraz keeps up his quest for the Sunshine double when he takes on the back to form Italian player Lorenzo Musetti. The final men’s match comes at the end of the night session as Alexander Zverev looks to make the last eight at the expense of Karen Khachanov.

Grandstand

The other five men’s matches are over on the Grandstand on Tuesday where it is ATP action all the way. Two unseeded rising stars meet to start the day off when Tomas Machac will look to build on beating Andy Murray in the previous round when he takes on Matteo Arnaldi before Casper Ruud looks to make progress at the expense of Nicolas Jarry. Jannik Sinner is the third player on show when he takes on Christopher O’Connell before Grigor Dimitrov meets Hubert Hurkacz in the pick of the matches to round off the day session. Alex de Minaur plays Fabian Marozsan in the one night session match on this court.

Betting

Grigor Dimitrov looks to have a nice spot to progress from on Tuesday when he takes on Hubert Hurkacz. Dimitrov had his match won so quickly on Monday that if you blinked you might have missed him whereas Hurkacz had to go through three sets to get the better of Seb Korda in a match which didn’t last deep into a third hour but would have called on a few mental resources which might catch up with him over the course of this game.

Dimitrov will be confident going into this one because he leads their head-to-head 4-0, with two of those wins coming on hard courts last year. To be fair to Hurkacz, he seems to take Dimitrov the distance but doesn’t get beyond the finish line. Dimitrov has been in decent touch all season and looked good in winning so well on Monday. I think he might just have the extra that is needed to get over the line in this one.
