Hardik Pandya started his IPL career for Mumbai Indians. However, the star all-rounder was released by the franchise before the 2022 mega auction. Hardik is returning to Mumbai again after two seasons. The five-time IPL champions are taking Hardik from Gujarat Titans in an ‘all cash deal’ for Rs 15 crore.

Such a report has been published by the cricket-based website ESPN Cricinfo. If this happens, it will be the biggest trade in IPL history. However, neither Gujarat nor Mumbai franchisee has commented on this till now. Mumbai will have to face a big challenge to get Hardik.

At the end of last season’s auction, Mumbai only had Rs 50 lakh. However, all the franchises are getting an additional Rs 5 crore before the auction for this season. In that, Mumbai currently has Rs 5 crore 50 lakh. Where Mumbai will have to spend 15 crores to get Hardik. They are getting the opportunity to release all the cricketers for that.

The franchises will submit their list of retained and released players on November 26. Only then will it be known whether Hardik is going to Mumbai. Meanwhile, if this happens, Hardik will become the third IPL captain to be traded to another team. Earlier, Ravichandran Ashwin left Punjab Kings and joined Delhi Capitals.

Hardik has batted 30 innings for Gujarat in two seasons. While this right-handed batsman scored 833 runs at an average of 41.65 and a strike rate of 133.49. Apart from this, he took 11 wickets with the ball at an economy rate of 8.1. Hardik is currently out of action with an ankle injury. As a result, he was knocked out in the middle of the World Cup.
